So called ‘English Mozart’ Henry Purcell was also a thinker:

As poetry is the harmony of words, so music is that of notes; and as poetry is a rise above prose and oratory, so is music the exaltation of poetry.

Man from the Wetsminster. Purcell lived at one  area in London all his life, close to his work at Westminster Cathedral.
