According to a provincial redneck´s newspaper Ilkka in the year 2000, more than 4,300 soldiers applied to be trained as peacekeepers. Just ten years later, in 2010, only 1,800 soldiers applied.
And the best is yet to came: the figures for female applicants plummeted, from more than 400 in the year 2000 to barely over 60 in 2010.
