de luftiga jordar till sig

Jon Lord, 1941-2012.
Den brittiska rockgruppen Deep Purples ursprungliga keyboardist Jon Lord är gått borta. Lord blev 71 år gammal.

Jon Lord var ena grundade av Deep Purple 1968 tillsammans med Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Paice, Nick Simper och Rod Evans.

Purple slog sig ihop 1969 och fortsatte fullt fram till 1973.
Dom spelade in en rad legendariska rockalbumer - med skivan Deep Purple in Rock eller Machine Head i spetsen.  Han hade fått en klassisk utbildning, kan man höra detta till exempel i songen Child in Time.
Jon Lord spelade också i hårdrockband Whitesnake åren 1978-1984.
Lord spelade i alla uppsättningar av Deep Purple fram till år 2002 då han pensionerade sig från hårdrock för att kunna koncentrera sig på att komponera klassisk musik som sig det var sitt livs stora kärlek (och mitt).

Bara förra lördagen, satt jag med mina gamla vänner på kväl. Vi påminde honom, och hans levande spel.
