Det finns svenska dagen som firas här bland finlandssvenskarna den 6 november samtidigt som man i Sverige firar Gustav Adolfsdagen. Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (1831 – 1891) was one of the most fascinating women of the 19th century. A Russian mystic, philosopher, author and an amateur linguist.

According to  Associated Press democrat Joe Biden has carried Michigan and its 16 electoral votes, further dismantling Donald Trump’s Rust Belt wall of support that helped deliver him the presidency four years ago.

The flip from red back to blue was a huge blow to Trump, whose victories in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania in 2016 sent him to the White House. Biden also carried Wisconsin, though Pennsylvania has not been called yet. 

Biden’s victory in Michigan, rapported AP — he was up Wednesday night by about 134,000 votes, or nearly 2.5 percentage points, out of 5.5 million cast — pushes him to 264 Electoral College votes, six short of the 270 needed to win the White House. Trump is at 214 electoral votes. Nevada, which has six electoral votes, is among the states Democrat Hillary Clinton won in 2016 that has not yet been called.

An Earth-size planet is careening untethered through the galaxy, but nobody has ever seen one here — yet.

We know very well earth orbits the sun like a ship sailing in circles around its anchor.   But least one star flyes helplessly and heedlessly through interstellar space ans a planet goes rogue.

Either we were very lucky, or such objects are very common in the Milky Way. They may be as common as stars,

This discovery demonstrates that terrestrial-mass free-floating planets can be detected and characterized using microlensing.

Some low-mass planets are expected to be ejected from their parent planetary systems during early stages of planetary system formation. 

Although in practice such objects do not emit any light, they may be detected using gravitational microlensing via their light-bending gravity.

Since August, the protest has also become localised, and hundreds of smaller groups have appeared.

At an untold number of Christian churches and institutions, according to Washington Post, works the silence on sexual abuse is deafening. Statistically, evangelical pastors rarely mention the issue from the pulpit.

According to research from the evangelical publishing company LifeWay, 64 percent of pastors said they talk about sexual violence once a year, or even less than that. Pastors drastically underestimate the number of victims in their congregations; a majority of them guessed in the survey that 10 percent or less might be victims. 

But in 2016, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 1 in 4 women (women make up approximately 55 percent of evangelicals) and 1 in 9 men have been sexually abused. There is no evidence suggesting those numbers are lower inside the church.

Immanuel Baptist Church faced a choice, the same one before many American churches today: Face the sin in their midst and make the church a place that follows the biblical command to care for the powerless and victimized — or avoid the disruption and churn out another generation of silenced victims who learn that the church isn’t safe.

I know that internal investigations, etc., have as much effect to it as with corruption, that is, nothing. Only publicity and -> the loss of reputation and -> the rule of law, will do it well. No matter a long time ago I got a sexual abuser caught red-handed, dead-bang, in one Camphill  Movement place -  someone must had been stopped this abuse there.

Manifestation för elfte söndagen i rad

För tolfte dagen i rad kräver de Aleksandr Lukašjenkos avgång.

Under söndagen föll ett duggregn över Minsk. Där den rödvita flaggan vajade och paraplyer hade fälld upp i folkhavet i Minsk - och presidenten har satt stopp för de tustentals demonstranterna.

(Den vita flaggan med rött band vajar i vinden. Den var tidigare Belarus flagga men förbjöds när Lukašjenko blev president).

Under söndagen gick polisen in och skingrade demonstranter i Minsk. Men det hindrade inte gatorna från att fyllas av tusentals till synes outtröttliga demonstranter.

Vi vetter att president Lukšjenko krävt att inrikesministeriet sätter stopp för protesterna i Belarus, som han själv kallar oroligheter eller terrorismen. 

På följande söndagen tusentals människor att samlas här under Leninstatyn i centrala Minsk. Demonstranterna ska höja nävarna igen och ropar slagord tillsammans. 

Det gemensamma målet är att avsätta presidenten som styrt landet i 26 år. Protesterna i Belarus är inne på sin tolfte dag. Protesterna utbröt efter att president  Lukasjenko vann Belarus presidentval. Valet anses vara riggat.

i brist på bättre dokumentation - det kommer ut ur tv - Belarus polisen använde batonger, chockgranater och vattenkanoner mot demonstranterna. 

Det är oklart hur många som skadades. Över tiotals demonstranter greps. Polisen i Belarus huvudstad Minsk tog till våld mot demonstranter som på söndagen fortsatte demonstrera mot valfusk och polisbrutalitet och krävde president Aleksandr Lukašjenkos avgång.

Men Lukašjenko höll möte med oppositionsaktivister i fängelset. Det har spekulerats i att Ryssland ser honom som ett möjligt alternativ till Lukašjenko.

En av de elva fängslade oppositionspolitikerna är den tidigare presidentkandidaten Viktor Babariko (i bilden). Denna man är tidigare styrelseordförande för energijätten Gazproms bank Belgazprombank och anses ha goda kontakter till Moskva.

Polisstyrkan med agerande mot demonstranter i Helsingfors i lördags var oacceptabelt.

Vi påminnar att polisen har brukat bära bort demonstranter, som göra passivt motstånd, men inte använda våld. Men nu, hör du, polisens bruk av pepparspray mot demonstranter.

Jag förstår inte hur människor som sprutas blind kan lämna scenen?

Polisen har kritiserats för bruk av pepparspray mot aktivisterna. 

Polisens sätt att reagera från hur man gjort i motsvarande situationer tidigare. Det får kritik från experthåll.

Kanske klimataktivister blockerade trafiken i Centrala Helsingfors, men lite bara.

Det är klart atta isatsen är överdimensionerad i förhållande till själva läge.

Att man kan  demonstrera sitt åsikt det är en grundrättighet i ett demokratiskt samhälle, precis på samma sätt som mötesfriheten och yttrandefriheten.

How do you study something invisible with the hard science premise?

This is a challenge that faces astronomers who study dark matter. Although dark matter comprises 85% of all matter in the universe, it doesn’t interact with light. It can only be seen through the gravitational influence it has on light and other matter. 

To make matters worse that research efforts to directly detect dark matter on Earth have been unsuccessful so far.

Using a simulation of the universe, Harvard researchers found that dark matter seems to have a universal property: It forms halos. 

This new simulation, according to Nature (Nature 585.7823, 2020, 39-42)  reveals what dark matter might look like if we could see it: massive halos surrounding every galaxy in the universe.

... but also every living being have own halos. I can see it, it's a universal fractal. This is also called chi, and it has measurable mass. 

Using a simulation of the universe, Harvard researchers found the result, which is a visual representation of how dark matter is distributed across the universe, a pattern known as like a som cosmic web.

It shows how dark matter clusters together in halos connected by long filaments, as shown in the image below. Scientists think gas gets funneled along these filaments into the dense centers of the halos, where it collects, eventually forming stars and galaxies. 

We can think about this web is like cars taking highways to cities.

Det finns Golfströmmen,  havsström som strömmer en i nordvästra Atlanten. Den sträcker sig från Mexikanska golfen via Floridasundet norrut ut i Sargassohavet. Mellan Newfoundland och Iberiska halvön, vid omkring 30°W, 40°N, delar sig Golfströmmen i två grenar – Nordatlantiska driften (strömmen) som sträcker sig till Nordeuropa och Kanarieströmmen som böjer av söderut till Västafrika.

Golfströmmen har avgörande betydelse för det varma klimatet längs med hela den nordamerikanska östkusten och i Västeuropa. I januari är till exempel temperaturskillnaden mellan norska kusten och det kanadensiska inlandet som ligger på samma breddgrad i genomsnitt 30°C.

Havsströmmarna i Atlanten är nu i samma position som 1915. Då bakom denna situation låg fyra vintrar utan frost i jorden. Och det var år 1915 som i vårt klimats mätningenshistoria började det svalna långsamt här.

Geologiska data visar att cirkulationssystemet i Atlanten, som gör att Europa är varmt idag.  Det här gjorde att så kallat djupvatten bildades i Atlanten samtidigt som det slutade bildas djupvatten i Stilla havet.

Datasimuleringar kan förklara (eller visa) båda dessa förändringar som beror på havsströmmarna med saltvatten som förbinder Stilla havet och Atlanten. En studie visar att dessa två fenomen hänger ihop.

Но bчера генеральный менеджер Йокерит Яри Курри сообщил, что команда отправится в Минск в соответствии с расписание игр КХЛ.

Pуководство клуба должно подумать, какое послание команда отправит своей аудитории, сыграв в Минске.

Также Министр науки и культуры Анника Саарикко (Центр), которая в правительства курирует также вопросы спорта, призывает руководство хоккейного клуба Йокерит еще раз подумать над поездкой в Минск.

Она напомнила, что государственное руководство дало критическую оценку происходящим в стране событиям.

Финляндии принято доверять клубам и их решениям в таких вопросах, но спорт - это не просто спорт, он имеет и этическое и ценностное составляющее. 

В клубе не захотели прокомментировать слова министра.

According to Britannica, crop circles are large geometric patterns made by flattening the crops of farmers. Sure, it is suggested that the purpose of the markings is to create a guide for other space crafts or to communicate with us.

Crop circles are most often found in England, but they have been reported across the globe. The first crop circle was very simple and was spotted in England in the 1970s. But the first publication of crop circles was by John Capron, in July, 1880.

According to Scientific American UFOs have been back in the news  because of videos initially leaked, and later confirmed, by the U.S. Navy and officially released by Pentagon that purportedly show unidentified aerial phenomena = UAP in our skies.
Judging the nature of these objects, objects, as confirmed by the Navy, needs a coherent explanation that should accommodate and connect all the facts of the events. And this is where interdisciplinary scientific investigation is needed.

Methodology itself is a great example of objective scientific analysis. And this is exactly what scientists can do to study these events.
We do not know what UAP are, and this is precisely the reason that we as scientists should study them.

I think it’s possibly to do with finding myself in my golden years. I’m also involved in two different halves of a career. One is the solo work and the other being Van Der Graaf Generator trio work. Together, the activity has reinvigorated me. Going from one thing to another is an energizing thing.

I too, I' ve writtin songs to finding myself -  also in my previous lives.

Every time I do a record, I try to do something different. That might seem a bit absurd after a 46-year career.

You might think a record is a routine effort, but it isn’t for me. For instance, the minute I sit down to record a rough piano part, that part might still be there on the final effort.

Fourth of July is fast approaching, and with it, the in US there comes a wave  of customary patriotic playlists featuring rousing anthems, nostalgic rock 'n' roll favorites and all sorts of other songs with America in the title.
But many of the classic songs that casual listeners may assume to be patriotic are anything but, from misunderstood anti-war missives to singalong favorites masking darker meanings.
Yes, I have been singing one or two of those.

According to USA Today both President Trump and candidate Bernie Sanders used Neil Young's 1989 track during their respective presidential campaigns.
Perhaps both rabble-rousing candidates found something to agree with in Young's tale of George H. W. Bush-era disillusionment, as he rails against wealth inequality, consumerism and the general decline of American society.

The chorus' Keep on rockin' in the free world refrain may be a rah-rah catchphrase that was used at the time of its release to celebrate the collapse of communism, but Young's words are almost certainly intended to be taken ironically, making the song less patriotic than the anthem it may initially seem.  

I think that is not.

I’m sort of horribly, pathetically fannish about Jeff. Ever since Hi Ho Silver Lining came out, when I was 20-odd, I’ve revered him and his playing. In many ways he just is the best guitar player. 

According to David Gilmour, Beck is still, after 40-something years since he came to prominence in the Yardbirds, the only person pushing forward in that way.
He’s never retreading old ground, he’s always looking for a new challenge.
