Édouard Cortès,1882 - 1969, est un peintre post-impressionniste français.
Il débute au Salon en 1902, avec des scènes de rues parisiennes qui plaisent beaucoup, Paris devient son sujet de prédilection, il peint la ville par tous les temps, toutes les saisons, à différents moments de la journée. Il devient membre de la Société des Artistes Français et y expose tous les ans.
En 1915, Cortès remporte une médaille d'argent au Salon des Artistes Français et une médaille d'or au Salon des Indépendants, selon cette page.


Les Gnossiennes sont une œuvre en six parties d'Erik Satie. Il joue dans le fond. Les Trois Gymnopédies datent de 1888.
