Just another windy flag day

There was some father of Finnish as a written language, Mikael Agricola (c. 1510-1557) who wrote and translated the first Finnish books in the 1500s, developed Finnish into a literary form, first publishing a primer for reading, and a catechism in 1543.

Maybe it has some significance, even though yes, we were already quite functional language, as part of the Swedish state.

Also, the Kalevala by Elias Lönnrot , 9 April 1802 – 1884) , are celebrating, This was forced to read in school,
Lönnrot was a Finnish physician, philologist and collector of traditional Finnish oral poetry.

He is best known for compiling Kalevala, the national epic of Finland, from national folk tales that he gathered during several expeditions in Finland, Russian Karelia, the Kola Peninsula and Baltic countries. He did it.
But theosophist Pekka Ervast (1875 - 1934) explained the significance of those poems for the human person internal changes, and what was his inner searching way to the initiation of a mystery.
Only after reading the book, Ervast´s The Key of Kalvala,
I realized the epic: until then it was meaningless.
The Key to the Kalevala was originally published in Finland in 1916. This insightful and detailed exploration of the ancient origins of Finnish mythology and ancient traditions, but above all mystical teachings will find no better introduction to the profound esoteric meaning of the Kalevala, through by book.

According to philosopher Reijo Wilenius theosophist Pekka Ervast was the leading theosophical researcher and author in Finland during the first decade of the 20th century. Ervast's exceptional ability to write and speak in a popular and inspiring way earned him the respect and admiration of the common people.

The Kalevala's publication in 1835, the Old Kalevala, and 1849 `expanded and reordered´, when Finland was a Grand Duchy of the Tsar's empire, fed Finnish national aspirations. It inspired the art of Akseli Gallén-Kallela and perhaps also the music of Jaen Sibelius. It has been translated into over 40 languages, with at least five translations into English alone.
But,
we are not bad, if we go now without this romantic nationalism.
