Funny thing, it was Deke Leonard who turned me on to the Nesmith solo albums. I picked them all up as cut outs. Deke's notes in the book talk about his love of Nes,

Deke played Dedicated Friend in the late 70's. He also wrote a song called 7171 551 which as something to do with Nes' phone number, (which is based on Michael Nesmith's name as interpreted via an old style telephone number), but Deke was right.
