Pope´s brain

An MRI scan of the brain.
The right amygdala - an ancient
part of the brain - was larger in
those people who described themselves
as conservative. It's located where
the yellow area meets the red in the
centre of the picture
Pope Benedict is saying that gay marriage was one of several threats to the traditional family, and that gay marriage soon as undermined "the future of humanity itself".
Recently Pope told diplomats from nearly 180 countries that the education of children needed some kind of `proper settings´, and that `pride of place goes to the family, based on the marriage of a man and a woman.´
(Perhaps this `proper settings´ -thing comes clear from the fact that with Vatican´s the age of consent, which is by far the lowest in the world.)

The Pope is an example of the Conservatives in the brain.
Today´s research has now developed into a serious effort to discover whether we are programmed with a particular political view: our brain structure in some way determines or results in our political attitudes.
Researchers have found evidence that the brains of conservatives are a different shape to those of, who are fearless left-wingers.
According to DailyMail our political allegiances could be hard-wired into our brains.
Neuroscientists believe that self-proclaimed right-wingers had a more pronounced amygdala - a primitive part of the brain associated with fears and emotion.
It is an almond-shape set of neurons located deep in the brain's medial temporal lobe. The right amygdala is larger in those people who described themselves as conservative.
However, those aligned to the left had thicker anterior cingulates - which is an area associated with anticipation and decision-making.
The research was carried out by Geraint Rees director of the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience who said he was 'very surprised' by the finding, which was being peer reviewed before publication.
There was 'a strong correlation that reaches all our scientific tests of significance'.
