Sanktionerna har tillintetgjort 30 år av utländska investeringar och företagsetableringar i landet, visar en ny studie av forskare vid Yaleuniversitet,

Så finns det klart att Ryssland drabbas hårdare av sanktionerna från väst än vad som framkommer av medierapporteringen. 

Det finns många typer av sanktioner.

Med ekonomiska sanktioner försöker västländerna göra Rysslands ekonomi så svag att Ryssland tvingas avsluta kriget i Ukraina. Ryssarna blir fattigare på grund av sanktionerna. Västländerna hoppas att det leder till missnöje med ryska ledare och det dyra kriget.

Och på grund av sanktioner kan ryska banker inte fungera i västländerna. Västerländska företag lämnar Ryssland. Handeln mellan Ryssland och västvärlden har minskat väldigt mycket. Ryska produkter säljs inte i västerländska butiker.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky visits port as Ukraine prepares to ship out grain. He's saying the departure of grain will begin with several ships that were already loaded but could not leave Ukrainian ports after Russia invaded in late February.

Zelenskyy has visits a Black Sea port as crews prepared terminals to export grain trapped by Russia’s five-month-old war, work that was inching forward a week after a deal was struck to allow critical food supplies to flow to millions of impoverished people facing hunger worldwide.

As a consequence, it's possible this is even the deepest cosmic viewing field ever obtained.

The image is said to be the deepest, most detailed infrared view of the Universe to date, containing the light from galaxies that has taken many billions of years to reach us.

Further debut pictures from James Webb are due to be released by Nasa in a global presentation today, on Tuesday.

Scientists can tell from the quality of the data produced by Webb that the telescope is sensing space way beyond the most far-flung object in this image. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second (in 3D space). 

They're going back about 13 and a half billion years. And since we know the Universe is 13.8 billion years old, you're going back almost to the beginning.

There are actually seven parallel levels in the universe - they will also emerge.

Arvid Järnefelt  (1861-1932) var personlig vän och förtrogen med Leo Tolstoj; dom brevväxlade fram till Tolstojs död 1910.

Arvid Järnefelt föddes 1861 i Pulkova, en by i närheten av S:t Petersburg. Han var son till geodeten och topografen, sedermera generalen och guvernören Alexander Järnefelt, som vid denna tid var verksam vid ryska generalstabens observa­torium på nämnda ort. 

På år 1891, då Järnefelt var auskultant i Vasa hovrätt, förändrades hans liv plötsligt. Denna tolstojanism var en på Jesu bergspredikan grundad morallära, som förnekade treenigheten, arvsynden, Kristi­ gudom­lighet, underverken, de dödas uppståndelse, himmel och helvete, dopet, nattvarden och de övriga sakramenten. 

Rörelsen var pacifistisk och manade till sexuell återhållsamhet. Vidare skulle man livnära sig på eget och inte på andras arbete samt älska alla människor på samma villkor. 

En tydlig protestkaraktär hade Järnefelts beslut att vägra döpa sina barn och ikke betala skatt. 

Och sen det mest dramatiska skedet i hans religiösa strävan inföll i slutet av 1910-talet. 

År 1917 utmanade han myndigheterna genom att förkunna sin lära om kärlek, broderskap och jämlikhet i kyrkor runt om i Helsingfors, vilket resulterade i en fängelsedom på två månader.

Social oro under den ryska revolutionen spred sig till Finland. Arvid Järnefelt och hans anhängare är inblandade i Helsingfors kyrkans upplopp i maj 1917  vars andra ledare är anarkisten Jean Boldt.

En bok med kyrktal från Järnefelt publicerades samma år.

Tolstojans inflytande framträdde redan i sin roman Isänmaa publicerades 1893. 1895 inledde Järnefelt korrespondens med Leo Tolstoy och han träffade honom.

Dom träffades två gånger, 1899 och 1910. Järnefelt var socialt engagerad och bistod fångar, fattiga och förtryckta.

China’s Sky Eye

In September 2020, Sky Eye, which is located in China’s southwestern Guizhou province and has a diameter of 500 meters (1,640 feet), officially launched a search for extraterrestrial life. 

"The team detected two sets of suspicious signals in 2020 while processing data collected in 2019, and found another suspicious signal in 2022 from observation data of exoplanet targets,"

  Zhang Tonjie, chief scientist of an extraterrestrial civilization search team co-founded by Beijing Normal University - has said according to the Bloomberg.

China’s Sky Eye is extremely sensitive in the low-frequency radio band and plays a critical role in the search for alien civilizations.

China said its giant Sky Eye telescope may have picked up signs of alien civilizations, according to a report by the state-backed Science and Technology Daily, which then appeared to have deleted the report and posts about the discovery.

The narrow-band electromagnetic signals detected by Sky Eye -- the world’s largest radio telescope -- differ from previous ones captured and the team is further investigating them, the report said, the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of California.

It isn’t clear why this report was removed from the website of the Science and Technology Daily, the official newspaper of China’s science and technology ministry; though the news had already started trending on social network Weibo and was picked up by other media outlets, including state-run ones.

Премьер-министр Финляндии Санна Марин в четверг побывала с коротким визитом в Украине. Вечером пресс-служба правительства сообщила, что Марин провела переговоры с премьер-министром Украины Денисом Шмыгалём.

По мнению Марин, украинцам очень важно чувствовать, что их не бросили и про них не забыли. 

«Финляндия всегда готова оказывать помощь»,

добавила политик в этом же интервью.

«Очень тяжело смотреть на то, что Россия сотворила с этими городами.»

Санна Марин: 

«необходимо ужесточить санкции против России и увеличить масштаб помощи Украине. ... Финляндия точно готова помогать.»

«Украина – это часть европейской семьи и Финляндия поддерживает Украину на её пути к ЕС», - сообщается в заявлении. «Важно сформировать конкретный пошаговый план по вступлению Украины в ЕС», 

считает Санна Марин.

Однако об упрощённой процедуре вступления Украины в ЕС речи не идёт. 

Ongoing War

This war will not stop after any concessions. Perhaps the Bear will just be put on pause for some time.

Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said to Reuters-  in an interview in the presidential office on Saturday - that making concessions would backfire on Ukraine because Russia would hit back harder after any break in fighting. 

He has ruled out a ceasefire with Russia and said Kyiv would not accept any deal with Moscow that involved ceding territory.

“After a while, with renewed intensity, the Russians will build up their weapons, manpower and work on their mistakes, modernize a little, fire many generals … And they'll start a new offensive, even more bloody and large-scale,” 

Podolyak said.

echoed Podolyak’s words, tweeting Sunday that “the war must end with the complete restoration of Ukrainian territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

“Russia can't be left halfway because the bear will develop a 'revanchist' mood and be even more cruel.”

Nu inleds de farligaste månaderna i vår moderna historia

Finland har lämnat besked om att de vill gå med i Nato utan vissas dröjsmålen. Nu inleds den farligaste perioden i modern tid för Finland och even för Sverige också.

Sant att Sverige och Finland tar nu snabba och samordnade steg mot det historiska beslutet att söka medlemskap i försvarsalliansen. 

Regeringen håller ett extra nödlägesammanträde redan på måndag för att ta det formella beslutet om en svensk Natoansökan. Omedelbart efter mötet kommer ansökan att skickas in, om inget oförutsett inträffar. 

Vid niotiden idag skickade Finlands statsminister Sanna Marin och presidenten Sauli Niinistö ut ett pressmeddelande om att de är för ett finskt Natomedlemskap och att Finland utan dröjsmål måste skicka in en ansökan. 

Imorgon ska den säkerhetspolitiska analysgruppen där alla riksdagspartier är representerade bli klara med sin rapport som ska presenteras på en presskonferens klockan 10. Det kommer inte att finnas någon tydlig skrivning om att Sverige bör gå med i Nato men slutsatsen kommer att framgå mellan raderna, enligt flera källor. Vänsterpartiet och Miljöpartiet som båda är emot Natomedlemskap väntas reservera sig.

På söndag den 15 maj håller den socialdemokratiska partistyrelsen ett extra sammanträde där de väntas fatta beslutet att ansöka om medlemskap.

Dagen efter, på måndagen den 16 maj klockan 10.30, blir det en extra riksdagsdebatt om den säkerhetspolitiska analysen. 

Enligt Expressens källor kommer statsminister senare under måndagen kalla till ett extra regeringssammanträde där det historiska beslutet ska fattas. Direkt efter mötet kommer ansökan om Natoansökan att skickas in, om inget oförutsett inträffar.

På tisdagen den 17 maj kommer den finske presidenten Sauli Niinistö till Sverige.

Central Finland police also said that May Day Eve was much, much livelier than in the past two years, as restaurants were allowed to remain open late. On the evening of the last day of April three people injured by reckless driver near Esplanade

Police saw when one man from upper class drove at high speed through the city centre, hitting eight cars on Pohjoisesplanadi, one of the parallel boulevards alongside Esplanade Park.

According to an Yle reporter at the scene, the black car drove at high speed from Aleksanterinkatu to Unioninkatu and then onto Pohjoisesplanadi.

The suspect endangered the safety of numerous bystanders while driving, police said

The area is adjacent to the Havis Amanda statue and the Market Square, traditionally a centre of May Day Eve celebrations. Authorities estimate that tens of thousands of people were gathered in the area.

Three people were injured, including the suspect. Social media videos show the man resisting and yelling Amen, Amen, Amen as he was wrestled to the ground by four police officers in the middle of the street after the final crash.

Helsinki police suspect the 33-year-old public servant of aggravated endangerment of traffic safety, aggravated drunk or drug driving, grievous bodily injury, resisting an official and insubordination, the police said in a statement.

"Yesterday I blew up zeros in Espa after hearing several witnesses (police and ambulance staff),"

he writes on social media.

“It’s a means of survival,” 

says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the war hero.

"... The military informed Zelensky that Russian strike teams had parachuted into Kyiv to kill or capture him and his family. “Before that night, we had only ever seen such things in the movies,” says Andriy Yermak, the President’s chief of staff.

As Ukrainian troops fought the Russians back in the streets, the presidential guard tried to seal the compound with whatever they could find. A gate at the rear entrance was blocked with a pile of police barricades and plywood boards, resembling a mound of junkyard scrap more than a fortification.

Friends and allies rushed to Zelensky’s side, sometimes in violation of security protocols. Several brought their families to the compound. If the President were to be killed, the chain of succession in Ukraine calls for the Speaker of parliament to take command. But Ruslan Stefanchuk, who holds that post, drove straight to Bankova Street on the morning of the invasion rather than taking shelter at a distance.

Stefanchuk was among the first to see the President in his office that day. “It wasn’t fear on his face,” he told me. “It was a question: How could this be?” For months Zelensky had downplayed warnings from Washington that Russia was about to invade. Now he registered the fact that an all-out war had broken out, but could not yet grasp the totality of what it meant. “Maybe these words sound vague or pompous,” says Stefanchuk. “But we sensed the order of the world collapsing.” Soon the Speaker rushed down the street to the parliament and presided over a vote to impose martial law across the country. Zelensky signed the decree that afternoon.

As night fell that first evening, gunfights broke out around the government quarter. Guards inside the compound shut the lights and brought bulletproof vests and assault rifles for Zelensky and about a dozen of his aides. Only a few of them knew how to handle the weapons. One was Oleksiy Arestovych, a veteran of Ukraine’s military intelligence service. “It was an absolute madhouse,” he told me. “Automatic  for everyone.” Russian troops, he says, made two attempts to storm the compound. Zelensky later told me that his wife and children were still there at the time."

РОСКОМНАДЗОР закрыл доступ к сайтам многих западных СМИ, ссылаясь на российский закон о СМИ и его статью 15.3. Закон позволяет блокировать доступ к сайтам, содержащим в том числе призывы к беспорядкам, экстремизму или участию в незаконных митингах.

Россия резко ограничила свободу прессы и свободу слова после начала широкомасштабного вторжения в Украину 24 февраля. Практически все российские независимые СМИ были закрыты, а доступ ко многим международным новостным сайтам был ограничен. В этот список входят британская вещательная компания BBC и немецкая вещательная компания Deutsche Welle. Социальные сети также были ограничены.

Sannolikt inga bindande garantier

Jag är säker på att om en Ryska Björnen kommer hit sig till vår land - Joe Biden beklagar, vad den sortens sak händer.

För det väntas ta ett par månader från det att Sverige och Finland lämnar in en eventuell ansökan tills dess att länderna är fullvärdiga medlemmar, eftersom alla Natos länder ska få säga sitt. Och att dessa månader är förknippade med betydande risker, betonas av Expressens regeringskällor. Man hänvisar bland annat till uttalanden från Ryssland om att man kommer vidta militärtekniska åtgärder om Sverige och Finland ansöker om medlemskap.

The images of murdered civilians from Bucha shock the world. According to Der Spiegel information, the German intelligence service BND recorded the radio traffic of suspected perpetrators. Accordingly, the brutal acts are part of the strategy of Putin's army.

"One Ukrainian is equivalent to a hundred Russkis."

Not caring about anything in his fury the commander sent a hundred men behind the hill, where a huge gun-fight began. After some time one badly wounded Russki dragged himself from behind the

hill and said:

"Commander, those Ukrainian lied. There were two of them!"

The same is true for Finns.

Human rights official Lyudmyla Denisova said to Reuters, about 130 survivors had been rescued from the rubble, but said there was still no information on the fate of the hundreds of others believed to be inside. Russia has denied bombing the building.

There aren't enough doctors to take care of people.

Ukrainian Forces captured Russian Krasukha-4 electronic warfare system!

Ukrainian forces captured near Kyiv what seems to be command post of the 1RL257 Krasukha-4 Electronic Warfare system, considered to be one of the most advanced Russian EW systems currently in service. The containerized system was hastily camouflaged with some tree branches before being abandoned by Russian forces, after it seemingly fell from the truck transporting it.

"We managed to identify this bizarre container, captured today by the UA forces near #Kyiv. " 

- says one fresh Twitter message.

It is likely to be the command post of one of the most potent Russian EW system - 1RL257 other words Krasukha-4. This one used to suppress AWACS radars & radar reconnaissance satellites.

The Krasuha-4 is a broadband multifunctional jamming system designed to neutralize Low Earth Orbit spy satellites such as the US Lacrosse/Onyx series, satellites, ground-based radars, airborne surveillance radars like AWACS and JSTARS, and radar-guided ordinance at ranges between 200-300 km. 

it may also cause damage to enemy radar electronic warfare and communications anr GPS systems in some circumstances. The system is also considered as a protection against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and anti-radiation missiles (ARMs).

According to the available info, the Krasukha-4 performs detection, processing, analysis and recognition of signals embedded in the operating range of frequencies employed by radars and other radio-emitting sources, before suppressing them with a jam signal transmitted by its three parabolic antennas.

The Krasuha-4 to transmit radio signals without restrictions in azimuth and elevation. The Krasuha-4 EW equipment is mounted on two KAMAZ-6350 vehicles to form the 1RL257 complex.

The first Krasukha-2½ electronic warfare system was delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense in November 2013. The system, which complements the larger Krasukha-units already in use by the Russian Army, have been reportedly deployed in Syria and Armenia.

With these special devices for electronic warfare, Russia has disturbed e.g. NATO exercises and Finnish airspace.

Murderers and rapists in Ukraine

Women have been raped for hours and then murdered during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.  The Nazis committed the same crimes in the Lapland War in Finland.

"I have the very strong aggression to make sure that each and every military criminal who has committed this crime is held to account".

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration has said 

Olha Stefanishyna said Ukraine will resist Russia's invasion to ensure "no genocide is committed on this land in the 21st century".

"Each and every soldier who has committed this war crime, by order or not, will be held accountable."

"Be sure, Russian soldiers, that we fix and see it all, and Ukrainian women will stand for each other, and we will prevail."

"That's why we have more than 2,000 cases, criminal cases, opened in our prosecutor's office," 

she said.
