75 år efter krigsslutet har Finland ännu inte medgivit den nära militära alliansen med Nazityskland.
Därför är det bara extern forskning om finsk historia som har värde.

FN-stadgan undertecknades i San Francisco den 26 juni 1945 - av de fyra stormakterna, Förenta staterna, Sovjetunionen, Folkrepubliken Kina och England och de stater som ingått i anti-Hitler-koalitionen, totalt 50 länder.
FN-stadgan har alltid handlat om mer än bara att förhindra och förebygga krig, alltså så kallad negativ fred.
i kapitlet om "internationellt samarbete på det ekonomiska och sociala området" formulerar stadgan också FN:s uppgifter för att förbättra levnadsstandarden, främja full sysselsättning och lösa internationella problem av ekonomisk, social, hälso- eller kulturell karaktär.  Alltså mänskliga rättigheterna, som annars inte nämns i stadgan, måste observeras, artikel 55 d. Allt som statsvetenskapligt kan betraktas som "positiv fred" bör också vara en del av FN:s uppgifter.

I hate patriotism

Fourth of July is fast approaching, and with it, the in US there comes a wave  of customary patriotic playlists featuring rousing anthems, nostalgic rock 'n' roll favorites and all sorts of other songs with America in the title.
But many of the classic songs that casual listeners may assume to be patriotic are anything but, from misunderstood anti-war missives to singalong favorites masking darker meanings.
Yes, I have been singing one or two of those.

According to USA Today both President Trump and candidate Bernie Sanders used Neil Young's 1989 track during their respective presidential campaigns.
Perhaps both rabble-rousing candidates found something to agree with in Young's tale of George H. W. Bush-era disillusionment, as he rails against wealth inequality, consumerism and the general decline of American society.

The chorus' Keep on rockin' in the free world refrain may be a rah-rah catchphrase that was used at the time of its release to celebrate the collapse of communism, but Young's words are almost certainly intended to be taken ironically, making the song less patriotic than the anthem it may initially seem.  

I think that is not.

I’m sort of horribly, pathetically fannish about Jeff. Ever since Hi Ho Silver Lining came out, when I was 20-odd, I’ve revered him and his playing. In many ways he just is the best guitar player.

So Donald Trump has liked to reserve the term `sleepy´ for his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, but his speech to West Point cadets showed that maybe the president, not Biden, deserves the moniker.

Turtiainen hade lagt upp en bild på amerikanen George Floyd som var nertryckt på marken av en polis, på bilden hade hans ansikte färgats ljusrött och under bilden fanns texten Pink Floyd. Enligt riksåklagare Raija Toivanen är det möjligt att detta tweet handla om hets mot folkgrupp - så finns det viktigt att Turtiainen hörs eftersom att tweeten kan uppfattas som rasistisk.

Sannfinländarnas partiordförande Jussi Halla-aho säger att det kan finnas skäl att utesluta Turtiainen ur partiet om han inte har för avsikt att ansöka om att få komma tillbaka till Sannfinländarnas riksdagsgrupp.

Sannfinländarnas partistyrelse vill nu ha en utredning av Turtiainen om han tänker söka om medlemskap i riksdagsgruppen på nytt efter årsskiftet.

Mimosa Willamo, finska filmskådespelare som fick en gång den Jussi-statyett för sin första roll i en långfilm. Efter det har hon gjort flera filmer och också spelat huvudrollen i TV-serien Lola uppochner.
Det ville hon förstås och det gick bra. Hon har varit Stina i Saltkråkan och Lotta på Bråkmakargatan. Hon berätter att har förtjänat sina egna fickpengar sedan hon var åtta år och det händer att hon dubbar ännu i dag.

The American fitness company Elitefts announced on Friday the termination of its commercial cooperation with the company of TrueFinns-MP Ano Turtiainen, who has been under fire over a racist tweet in which he mocked the death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis; now the same decision made by The CPU.

The CPU board has voted to ban all Metal gear from our platforms, effective immediately. We cannot condone the actions of the company founder or support his messages of disrespect.

Turtiainen tog på denna wecka ställning till fallet George Floyd och de rådande omständigheterna kring polisvåld i USA med ett inlägg på Twitter.

I inlägget fanns också en bild av George Floyd, nertryckt på marken av polis. Polisens knä är tryckt; mot Floyds nacke och hans ansikte har färgats ljusrött. Under bilden stod texten: "Pink Floyd".
 Inlägget innehöll en bild som gjorde narr av en död person. (Det har också tagits bort, men du kan se det) - yttrandefriheten är en central mänsklig rättighet, men att den inte är helt obegränsad.
Enligt en färsk obduktionsrapport kvävdes Floyd till döds till följd av det polisvåld han utsattes för. Hans död har väckt häftiga protester och demonstrationer, inte bara i USA utan också runt hela världen.
Vi vet att sanligen att det är inte första gången Ano Turtiainen har fått kritik för sitt beteende på sociala medier.
Turtiainens inlägg har kritiserats på sociala medier och anmälts till polisen flera gånger.
I skriverier på Facebook år 2015 berömde han personer som hade "tagit risker" och deltagit i "elimineringsuppdrag" riktade mot befintliga och planerade mottagningscentraler. Turtiainen dömdes till 50 dagsböter.
Turtiainen pekade också ut Finlands röda kors som "vår värsta fiende" och undrade om det inte var dags att

utvidga aktionerna mot fiendens ledning.

Efter domen uppgav Turtiainen till tidningen Länsi-Savo (egentligen Länkkäri, på finska) att han "inte ångrar någonting".

Ano Turtiainen (true finns), who won a seat in the Parliament from Southern Finland, has tweeted about the case of George Floyd.
In this tweed (lately deleted) he asks, but the true essence of messages subtance, glorifies brutal violence and racist segregation of people.
Sure, The True Finns Party is not the only party with lawmakers with criminal convictions.
But Turtiainen in December 2015 described attempts to burn down reception centres as “elimination missions” that are crucial for “protecting our independence and security”.
Turtiainen filed an appeal against a fine issued on him for public incitement to an offence. He appeared before the Eastern Finland Court of Appeal in Kuopio in May 2019.

The Kinks are refuting a new BBC Radio 2 documentary that once again alleges the long-debunked myth that Jimmy Page played on their 1964 hit, You Really Got Me.
He has never say that he didn’t play on the track You Really Got Me.
Yes, he played just on that track, among other things.

We know  that Jimmy Page played lead guitar on The Who's Bald Headed Woman.
It explained how Jimmy Page ended up on lead for The Who´s Bald Headed Woman. Those the fuzz-pedal sounds, which droning throughout is played by Page.
The reason being, he owned the only fuzz box in the United Kingdom at that time.
Perhaps the first sucht this kind of Fuzz used by Jimmy Hendrix in America.

They did it in Iceland

I think ‘Immigrant Song’ was great. Having been to Iceland, where we wrote it, I could understand exactly how it caught me musically and the agitation of the music too. It was smooth, cool.

At radio station Q107 in 2010, Robert Plant shared the reason why this song The Immigrant Song (1970) meant so much to him.

We weren’t being pompous … We did come from the land of the ice and snow. We were guests of the Icelandic Government on a cultural mission. We were invited to play a concert in Reykjavik and the day before we arrived all the civil servants went on strike and the gig was going to be cancelled. The university prepared a concert hall for us and it was phenomenal.

Där finns tre händelser under månaden i tibetansk buddhism med  Vesakhaanses av theravadatraditionen. Vesak är en buddhistisk högtid som firas till minne av Buddhas födelse, uppvaknande och parinirvana.
I högtiden är det Buddhas uppvaknande som har den viktigaste betydelsen, eftersom det är då som buddhismen börjar.

Vid sitt uppvaknande var Buddha 35 år och han spenderade sina återstående 45 år i livet med att vandra omkring på norra Indiens slätter och undervisa om sin lära, som han kallade Dharma. 

Det är en slags motsats till karma, ljusets väg.

Den här dagen är helig på två sätt.

According to Far Out Magazine when Jimi Hendrix arrived on the scene in London he blew everybody away and really did change rock and roll almost overnight. His psychedelic musings may have even influenced Paul McCartney during the making of his masterpiece Sgt. Pepper. It would be under the influence of The Beatles that Hendrix would get his shot at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. It’s fair to say that Hendrix was influenced by The Beatles too.

In 1969 Davis and Hendrix sent an impromptu telegram to Paul McCartney with the hope they might convince him to join their new supergroup. A telegram was sent to Apple Records on Oct. 21, 1969.

Then there is the repeated phrase “missed the call”. We have a few idioms that are close to this one (“missed the boat” or “missed the mark” come to mind.) But we don’t say “missed the call” unless we mean a phone call. Or we’re referring to a sports referee.

We saw the same lack (like before) of comprehension this week when Trump was asked about having second thoughts on his trade war with China.

Led Zeppelin have triumphed in a long-running copyright dispute after a US appeals court ruled they did not steal the opening chord's theme in the song Stairway To Heaven.
Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page gave evidence at a 2016 trial.
The British rock legends were accused in 2014 of ripping off a song called Taurus by the US band Spirit.
Taurus was written in 1968, three years before Stairway To Heaven. Now, the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco has upheld a 2016 trial verdict that found Led Zeppelin did not copy it.

Stairway To Heaven is sad song but it regularly appears on lists of the greatest rock songs ever written, and the case has been one of the music industry's longest-running and closely-watched disputes.

Dom kan snacka så att ingen kan veta meningen med livet.

Meningen med livet är en fråga som människor funderat över i alla tider.

Frågan har särskilt avhandlats av religionsstiftare och filosofer. En central följdfråga är huruvida det finns något liv efter detta. 

Dom som tror på ett sådant liv räknar ofta med att detta liv ska finnas avgörande för det nästa livet.

Du, mina lesare, har säkerligen funderat på vad meningen med livet är mer än en gång.

The premise comes from a 66-year old short story by Philip K. Dick that appeared in Orbit Science Fiction. Writer-director George Nolfi has not attempted to be faithful to Dick's text but kept it this one point: humanity's path is under constant observation and occasionally needs to be karma adjusted by the observers.
Some call them angels, others call them older brothers.
Maybe they prefer to be known as case workers.
They are great creators, the lords of karma.

Pekkas al-Hol-saken till fortsatt utredning av riksåklagare och polis

Där frågas om och hur ministern pressade (i al-Hol saken) och förflyttade den konsulära chefen Pasi Tuominen och med vilka motiveringar.
Grundlagsutskottet har beslutat att ge ärendet vidare till riksåklagaren för en förundersökning. Efter det ska utskottet ta ställning till frågan.

Tio riksdagsledamöter från Sannfinländarna, Samlingspartiet och Kristdemokraterna ville utreda om ministern Pekka Haavisto, De gröna, har fattat olagliga beslut eller följt lagen under de olika skedena i behandlingen.

Det handlar om vad som ska hända de finländska barn och mödrar som befinner sig i det kurdiska al-Hol-lägret. Sammanlagt rör det sig om ett trettiotal barn och deras mödrar. Förhållandena i lägret beskrivs som svåra.

Alla har sina lokaler i hembygdsgården och alla är medlemmar i varandras föreningar, vilket gynnar alla eftersom föreningarna får bidrag efter hur många medlemmar dom har. Ett bra system ända tills de en dag får ett besök från Sveriges Hembygdsförbund.
Den oväntat uppdykande representanten sätter igång en serie av händelser som ingen hade kunnat förutse.

This is the one kind of touching moment when an orangutan tries to lend a helping hand to a man searching for the snakes.
An orangutan came to the banks and was watching what he was doing.

He then came closer and gave his hand, 

said this man.
But the amateur photographer revealed the man actually refused the orangutan’s hand after he put away the camera – as it’s a wild animal.
The picture was taken in a conservation forest area in Borneo where the endangered species are protected from hunters.
Someone told to man there was a snake in the river. The warden went there and cleared the bushes.
The man was clearing away snakes to guard the orangutans – until he was interrupted by an inquisitive ape.
