In our calendar find now that March 19
is also a flag day: also in honor of
Minna Canth (1844 – 1897).
Known as Tahdon2013 , I will 2013, the minimum aim of the campaign is to collect the signatures of at least 50,000 adult Finns.
The campaigners hope to gather over 250,000 names.
Today is a flag day: The Equality Day, and at the same time is Minna Cant´s birth day.

She was a major civil rights activist (my grandfather's mother was at work in hers company).
This amount of signatures  would oblige the legislature to consider the proposal, which was narrowly rejected in a Parliamentary committee a few weeks ago.

Finland is the only Nordic country not to recognise same-sex marriage, although it does allow registered partnerships.
Under the proposal, all regulations related to marriage would be extended to cover same-sex couples as well.
The petition will be launched with events in towns and cities around the country on Tuesday. It can be signed in paper form or online on the civic proposal website kansalaisaloite.fi.
The only other such citizens' initiative to collect the required 50,000 signatures so far is one aimed at banning fur farming.
In late February, the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee decided by a margin of one vote not to bring the bill to the floor of the legislature for a vote. The bill was supported by several government ministers.
