Finland is the promised land for the parliamentary committees.
Now one parliamentary committee to look into hockey violence
The Jokerit-HIFK game was the spark, and members asked if it would be possible to hear evidence from people on the matter, says one committee chair and MP, we like to ask them about violence in sports.
Finnish lawmakers are to ask key ice hockey figures to appear before a committee looking into violence in the sport. This latest discussion started a few week ago.
The investigation was sparked by a European Trophy match between HIFK and Jokerit on 1 September, which saw several brawls.
SM Liiga eventually handed out lengthy bans to both head coaches and six players, including a record 18 games to Jokerit’s Semir Ben-Amor (He did what he was told to do by an ice hockey coach).
Both clubs were fined and Jokerit also lost a sponsorship deal with Sanoma Ltd, as they say, a result of the bad publicity.
Right, I like this company, and I am partner of them.
And do not like violence so much. Boxing is yes.
Ice hockey has also its own aggression, but in recent weeks it has also been seen in among other things spitting in other´s eyes.
Bad.
